Lessons
Our Oxford flying lessons offer the perfect introduction to the thrilling world of aircraft piloting. With plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience throughout, your flying lesson will be action-packed from the start.
Every lesson begins with a pre-briefing session, where your pilot will explain the flight and demonstrate how the basic controls work. After a plane walkaround and a tour of the cockpit, you can strap in and start taxiing out to the runway.
Once you’re airborne, you’ll have the chance to do as much or as little flying as you’d like. If you ever need a break, your pilot will take over and let you take in the breathtaking views below.
RAF Aerial Tour
Oxfordshire is home to many RAF bases, and they’re all a sight to behold. Our RAF Aerial Tour is the perfect way to catch a glimpse into the workings of an active airbase. On your flight, your pilot will take you out to either RAF Fairford, RAF Brize Norton, or RAF Benson.
Gliding
A gliding flight is a unique experience. A thrilling gliding descent gives you the chance to take in the beautiful Oxfordshire scenery in an almost silent environment. Our Bicester Airfield location is home to our gliders and expert pilots, who are ready to take you high into the clouds for your blissful descent.
During your experience, you’ll even get a chance to take the controls as you swoop back down to earth.
Aerobatic Experiences
This one is for all the daredevils out there. Strap in for an exhilarating aerobatic ride over the Oxfordshire countryside. You won’t have much time to take in the views, though, as your plane loops, barrel rolls, and soars through the sky!
And more!
This is just a taste of the many experiences that we offer, and there’s plenty more available at our Oxford location. Whether you’re looking to jump behind the controls of a vintage aircraft or get the best views of the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire countryside in our Chipmunk plane, get in touch today to find out more.

Which experience is right for me?
If you’re struggling to decide which experience is best for you, make sure to think about what you want to get out of the session. If you’d like to learn some flight skills that could set you on a piloting path, then one of our flying lessons is ideal.
Maybe you’re looking for a ride of a lifetime, in which case we’d have to recommend an acrobatic flight! If you’d like more advice on choosing the right experience, then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
What's the minimum age for a flying lesson?
The minimum age is 14 years across our full range of experiences. Regardless of your age, you’ll always be in the hands of a professional private pilot.
What will I see during my flight?
Oxfordshire is a beautiful county to fly over, all from the rolling hills of the Cotswolds to the aerial view of the magnificent RAF bases (not many people get that opportunity!). Climb into the skies and see the prestigious University city come into view with the towering architectural buildings and the twists of the Thames, where you can go punting after your flight!
What happens after my flight?
Following your flight, your pilot will lead you back to the club house where you can grab a cuppa tea or coffee and have a sit down to reminisce what you have just experienced. If you have any questions to ask about flying then your pilot will be more than happy answer them.
Do I need to bring anything for my flight?
All you will need to bring is yourself and your Air Experiences voucher.
Don’t forget your camera – you need to show your friends what you have just done!
What should I wear for my flight?
We suggest for summer months to wear, light-weight clothes as it can get warm in the aircraft similar to a greenhouse! We also recommend to bring sunglass and a hat for those sunny days!
Ladies no skirts or dresses or heels as you’ll be climbing in and out of the cockpit
For winter months, bring a coat to keep you warm (you can always take it off).
For the aerobatic flight, you will be asked to wear a green flying suite
Are spectators welcome?
Friends and family are more than welcome to come along. They will be able to watch you and take photos of you getting comfortable into your plane. Your guests will then be able to relax in the club house and grab a cuppa tea whilst you go for your flight.
How long will my flight be?
You can choose either 30 or 60 minute flight where you will spend that selected amount of time in the air.
How old do you have to be for the flight?
For all the flights from our Oxford location, minimum age is 14yrs.
There is no maximum age, as long as the voucher holder is in reasonable health and mobility.
Who will be with me on the flight?
In all of the experiences there will be you and your pilot. Unfortunately the flights at our Oxford location do not allow you to bring friend as a passenger in the aircraft you will be in are only two seaters.
Will I get a go at flying the plane myself?
Certainly! You can do as much or as little flying as you wish. Your instructor will do the take-off and landing (they like that bit) but once in the air at some point during the lesson your instructor will ask if you want to take control of the plane. We have got to say it is definitely a bucket list must do!
